Legal services in Milan
Four areas of law, handled in depth: the firm concentrates on a few areas of law and follows them consistently, from the first consultation to the final instance. Choose the area that concerns you: you will find how we work, the most frequently asked questions and the relevant legislation.

Criminal law
Criminal Defence Lawyer in Milan
We defend suspects and defendants and assist victims of crime, from the first stages of an investigation to an appeal before the Supreme Court.
As criminal defence lawyers in Milan we step in from the very first act: a notice of investigation, an interview, a search, a seizure or a precautionary measure. We study the file, explain to the client the available defence options and their consequences, and follow the case through the preliminary hearing, the trial or an alternative procedure such as plea bargaining, the abbreviated trial or probation.
For the injured party we take an active role: a complaint filed within the legal time limits, opposition to a request to drop the case, and joining the proceedings as a civil party to claim compensation within the criminal trial. For companies we handle the defence in corporate, insolvency and tax offences (Legislative Decree 74/2000), in offences against the public administration and in proceedings on corporate liability (Legislative Decree 231/2001), kept separate from the defence of directors.
Avv. Marco Bianucci is admitted to practise before the Court of Cassation: the same defence can follow the case from the Tribunale and the Court of Appeal of Milan up to the Supreme Court.
What we handle

Family law
Family and Divorce Lawyer in Milan
We assist spouses, parents and cohabiting partners in separation and divorce, in decisions about children and where there is violence in the family.
When a relationship breaks down we look first for an agreement that will hold over time: separation and divorce by consent, through a joint petition to the Tribunale di Milano or through assisted negotiation. When agreement is not possible, as divorce lawyers we file a contested petition and ask for interim orders on the children, the family home and maintenance.
In decisions about children — joint or sole custody, residence, parenting time, maintenance and extraordinary expenses — we work with a family educator and, where needed, with psychologists and child neuropsychiatrists. We also assist unmarried parents, cohabiting partners and parties to a civil union, and we apply to vary the arrangements when incomes or the children’s needs change.
In cases of domestic violence we ask the court for protection orders; when a child is taken or kept abroad, we act for the child’s return under the 1980 Hague Convention.
What we handle

Personal injury
Personal Injury Lawyer in Milan
We assist people who have suffered serious injury and the families of victims: medical negligence, road accidents and road homicide, workplace injuries.
In medical negligence cases we work with a medico-legal expert and a specialist in the relevant discipline: we reconstruct diagnosis, treatment and outcome, and handle the preliminary expert assessment or the mediation required by the Gelli-Bianco law. After serious road accidents we identify the liable insurer or the Guarantee Fund for road victims.
We quantify every head of loss: personal injury, moral suffering, medical expenses, lost income and future consequences, using the legal criteria and the applicable tables. For workplace injuries we claim, on top of the INAIL benefit, the differential damage; the families of victims are entitled to compensation for the loss of the family relationship.
We discuss insurers’ offers item by item and, if no adequate settlement is reached, we act before the civil court or as a civil party in the criminal proceedings.
What we handle

Inheritance
Inheritance Lawyer in Milan
We protect forced heirs and other heirs in disputes over the reserved share, wills and the division of estates, including assets abroad.
In every inheritance dispute we start from the figures: we reconstruct the deceased’s assets, debts and lifetime gifts, including by asking banks for ten years of account movements. Only on this basis can the reserved share and each co-heir’s share be calculated.
We assess whether a will is valid — formal defects, lack of capacity, duress, fraud or mistake — and, with experts in forensic handwriting examination, whether a handwritten will is authentic. In the division of the estate we settle the collation of gifts, balancing payments and the allocation of property.
Before going to court we seek an agreement, including through civil mediation, which in inheritance disputes is as a rule mandatory; if that is not enough, we act before the Tribunale. For estates with assets abroad we apply Regulation (EU) No 650/2012 and work with lawyers in the country concerned.

Fees
What it costs, before we begin
Every engagement is preceded by a written estimate. The Italian law on the legal profession (Law no. 247/2012, art. 13) requires lawyers to state in writing the foreseeable cost of their services, distinguishing charges, expenses and fees: for us, it is also the simplest way to build a relationship of trust.
The estimate sets out the planned work, the fees and the foreseeable expenses, including any expert consultants. If the situation changes significantly — a further level of appeal, an unforeseen inquiry — we discuss it with you first and update the estimate in writing.
