In brief
- The website does not set profiling cookies and shows no advertising.
- The website itself does not set any cookies: the language is shown in the page address and the contact form works without session cookies.
- Cloudflare, the service through which the website is delivered and protected, may set technical security cookies when they are needed to block automated or abusive traffic.
- When you start filling in the contact form, Google reCAPTCHA is loaded to protect the form against spam, and it may set a technical security cookie.
- Usage statistics with Google Analytics 4 are optional: the script and its cookies are loaded only if you choose “Accept” in the banner.
- The choice you make in the banner is saved for 6 months in your browser’s localStorage, not in a cookie. You can change it whenever you wish using the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page.
Cookies and similar tools
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser and that the browser sends back to the website with each subsequent request. Other tools perform similar functions, such as localStorage, an area of the browser in which a website can store information. The Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) of 10 June 2021 apply the same rules to these tools as to cookies.
Tools are classified according to their purpose:
- technical: they are needed for the website to work or to provide a service you have requested, and do not require consent under Article 122 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 (Italian Privacy Code);
- analytics: they measure how the website is used; on this website they are activated only with your consent;
- profiling: they are used to create user profiles, for example to show targeted advertising; this website does not use them.
Tools used by the website
| Name | Provider | Type and purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| slb-consent (localStorage, not a cookie) | Studio Legale Bianucci | Technical. Remembers whether you accepted or refused statistics, so that the banner does not reappear on every page. It is present only after you have made a choice. | 6 months |
| __cf_bm, cf_clearance and other security cookies | Cloudflare | Technical. They distinguish legitimate traffic from automated traffic and protect the website against attacks. They are set only when needed. | Short (for example, 30 minutes for __cf_bm) |
| _GRECAPTCHA | Technical. Used by reCAPTCHA to tell people from automated programs and protect the contact form against spam. It is set only when you start filling in the form. | 6 months | |
| _ga | Analytics, only with your consent. Distinguishes visitors by means of a random identifier, in order to produce aggregate statistics on the use of the website. | Up to 2 years | |
| _ga_<ID> | Analytics, only with your consent. Maintains the state of the browsing session for statistical purposes; <ID> is the identifier of the website’s Google Analytics property. | Up to 2 years |
For Google Analytics cookies, the duration shown is the maximum period in the browser stated by Google; the data collected, by contrast, remain in Google Analytics for up to 14 months.
Statistics with Google Analytics 4
The firm uses Google Analytics 4, a Google service, to obtain aggregate statistics on the use of the website, for example which pages are viewed and from which types of device. These statistics help us understand which content is useful and improve it.
- The Google Analytics script is loaded only if you have chosen “Accept” in the banner. Without your consent, the website does not contact the Google Analytics servers and does not set the related cookies.
- Google Analytics is configured with Google Consent Mode v2 and with advertising features disabled (Google Signals and ad personalisation): the data are not used to show you ads. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
- In Google Analytics, data are kept for up to 14 months.
- Google may also process data outside the European Economic Area: the safeguards applied are described in the privacy notice.
To find out how Google processes data, you can consult Google’s privacy policy and the page on how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Third-party links and content
The website does not embed third-party social network plugins, videos or interactive maps that could set cookies.
- The links to the firm’s profiles on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook are simple links: these services receive no data from the website until you open them. From that moment on, the privacy policies of their respective operators apply.
- The map on the Contact page is a static image created with OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors) and served by our website: viewing it does not involve any requests to third-party servers. If you click on the map, the address or the directions link, Google Maps opens and processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
- Fonts, images and scripts are served from the website’s domain; the exceptions are the Google reCAPTCHA script, loaded when you start filling in the contact form, and the Google Analytics script, loaded only with your consent.
How to give or withdraw consent
On your first visit a small banner appears at the bottom of the page: “Accept” turns on Google Analytics statistics; with “Decline”, or by closing the banner with the ✕, the website keeps using technical tools only. Until you accept, Google Analytics is not loaded; declining does not restrict your use of the website in any way.
Your choice is saved in the browser, in localStorage under the key slb-consent, for 6 months: after this period the banner is shown again.
You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page, which opens this page and shows the banner again. If you withdraw your consent, the website deletes the Google Analytics cookies that it can reach and the script is no longer loaded on the pages you visit afterwards; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it. You can also delete any cookies already stored in your browser settings, as explained in the next section.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also manage cookies and site data in your browser settings: view those stored, delete them or block them in whole or in part. Deleting cookies and site data also removes the slb-consent entry: on your next visit the banner will be shown again.
Instructions for the most widely used browsers:
If you block the storage of site data, the browser will not be able to remember your choice and the banner will reappear on every page.
